Re: all in one key/remote units on ebay

Hi

Been a while since I last was on this site but just realised i didn't log off last time, which means i have been logged on for many years!

Now coming up to 10 years since I bought my xtrail and still purring along... Great vehicle.

My remote is wearing out and was wondering if anyone had experience with those all in one flick key Chinese units selling for $80. I notice the exact same thing for sale on Ebay US for the Xterra at $30.

Any suggestions or experience

Well done for keeping the site going!

Re:

The overseas remotes wont work with your xtrail and you can't re-program them as they work on a different frequency than those in Australia.

If you have a T30 exy, you must buy a remote with a part number MSRA16. From memory, only the Nissan Tiida has a compatible remote to the T30 exy.

Hi
I have purchased an all in one Flip-out Key from Taiwan which, after a bit of playing around with the programming steps for the lock/unlock buttons and getting the immobilser programmed at local locksmith, works great.

Re: Re-Programming Keyless Remote DIY Guide

Nissan in Alice springs wanted to charge me $150 for a key and $150 for a remote and $70 and 1 hours time to code both.
So i purchased a flip key and remote in one and programmed the remote part in my car by performing a series of steps. got it from hong kong. had to still get the key part coded by a dealer. took me 2 mins to program the remote side tho. (the flip key/remote in one has 2 chips in it)
They coded the key for $50 and the key cost me $70. Cost me $130 in total vs there $370......bloody rip off.

I still have the instructions for remote coding and it works on other remotes too if anyone needs them

Re:

I haven't tried this with a T31, as it was meant for the T30 models, but you can certainly try and let us know what happens.

Re:

just to confirm the remote part number MSRA16 is NOT compatible with the T30 xtrail, on the advice from this forum I ordered a remote and it does not work with the T30 and electronically it is clearly different.

my own fault for believing stuff off the internet i guess, but be warned don't just trust all the info presented to you or else you'll be out $$$

Re:

The remote you buy MUST be purchased in Australia, not some cheap eBay seller overseas! HERE is a good example of what you should be buying to ensure compatability!

It is the correct part number 100% and other T30 owners can look at the back of their remote and confirm this information (I had one for 8+ years myself!), so you will either need to check your "skills" on how to program it before blaming the forum for assisting you or ensure you buy it from the correct source.

Alternatively, do your own research from other sources if the information presented to you here is not to your level of satisfaction.
