The red one is still to be coded.

A red remote? Never seen this one before emoticon

Are you sure you don't mean the spare red key which all of us have? emoticon

Re: X-Trail Spare Keyless Remote Poll

All posts relating to the "Remote Start System" have been moved to an existing thread HERE

Please keep this thread related to the "factory" keyless remote control only.

Thanks for your help.

Not all advertised remotes on eBay will work with our exy. Reason being is that they need to work on exactly the same frequency as the factory remote.

I got myself one of these remotes and it looked identical to the factory one, yet I could not re-program it to work.

The model number of our remote is MSRA16

Most of these remotes on eBay are made in Mexico and have a different model number and are set to work on a different frequency (US and Canada only)

Be very careful when you bid on these and ask the seller to confirm model compatibility as well as solid confirmation that it will work with the Australian xtrail.

Re delivery April 2002, Ti

I received two black remotes from Cullens - then at Concord NSW.

This does not tally with what Jalal was told!

Re: X-Trail Spare Keyless Remote Poll

Hi Guys
I got two remotes, one with a red key and one with a black key. Both remotes work both keys work. I asked the dealer what was with the red key. It is called a 'Valet' key so it wont unlock the glove box.

Re: X-Trail Spare Keyless Remote Poll

Ours was originally 12/02 delivery. When we bought it secondhand two years later we got three remotes from the dealer. Quickly worked out that only two of them worked on this vehicle and took the third one back.
