 X-Trail Spare Keyless Remote Poll
Hi All,
It has been brought to my attention that some of us got 2 keyless remotes from the dealer at the time of purchasing the exy and some (like myself for example) only got one keyless remote and a spare red key.
This poll has been created so we can see how many of you got 1 or 2 remotes so we can in turn make a call if this is a dealer dependant practice or "something else"!
Considering the cost of a replacement remote control from the dealer is $145 (including re-coding) I'm far from being impressed!

Nope Rich, some Series I owners also reported getting 2 remotes.
Where was the second remote located? It will be funny if I find it in the car after over 3 years of having the exy. hahahahaha
And nope, it's not in the glovebox or the centre arm rest box.

Just called Nissan Australia and spoke to a nice lady who put me on hold after me asking the question about how many remotes the dealer is suppose to issue to new car buyers and the answer is this:
Since the introduction of the X-Trail in 2001 up until 2003 (inclusive) all new X-Trail owners were issued with ONE keyless remote only, after that period all new xtrail owners were issued with TWO remotes.
So, it is just my bad luck I guess that I (and some others) have missed-out on having 2 remotes.
This also explains why some of us were keen on having the spare remote and other weren't
