Re: nudge bar series 1

Hi i8u2quick,

And Welcome to the Forum.

I have a series 1 X-Trail, and recently had to have my Genuine Nissan Nudge and Bumper replaced after being reversed into.

I renewed my nudge to an aftermarket nudge this time (xtrak), however I managed to keep my old Nudge for a spare.

Now you were saying that your Nudge does not fit the curve of your bumper?

Here is my old Series I nudge. Does yours look like this?

Image

If it doesn't, then you have problems.

If it looks the same, then you have a bracket problem.

The info that was supplied with my aftermarket Nudge indicated that "Top" brackets has been changed from Series 1 to Series 2. The "Bottom" brackets remain unchanged.

Here is a photo of my old brackets to fit a Nissan Nudge to a Series 1 X-Trail.

Image

Brackets on the left are the "Bottom" brackets. The Bottom Left Hand Side bracket has the number "N249" stamped into it. The Bottom Right Hand Side bracket has the number "N248" stamped into it.

The Brackets on the right are the "Top" brackets. These two are identical and has the number "N240" stamped into it.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi NPC73,
I have a series 1 X-Trail
Here is my Series 2 nudge

Image

I also have wrong brackets

Brackets on the left are the "Bottom" brackets. The Bottom Left Hand Side bracket has the number "N316" stamped into it. The Bottom Right Hand Side bracket has the number "N315" stamped into it.

The Brackets on the right are the "Top" brackets. These two are identical and has the number "N240" and "N249"stamped into it.

I have called nissan and found out series 1 and 2 are NOT the same.

The bumper and nugde must be of the same series not a mixed match.

============================================

Having just recently bought my exy was happy that seller threw in the Nudge Bar that he had bought new and never fitted. Put her in for her 50,000 km service and requested they fit the nudge (cost $210) however Dalby Nissan advised me that it was for a Series 2, mine being a series 1, so couldn't fit it. Got back onto the seller who has been more than cooperative and has been on to Nissan Petrie, Qld who have told him that there is only 1 Nudge Bar that fits all X-trails which we all know is not the case. Have sent them an email to this effect but still waiting on a reply, also sent a copy to Dandenong South Head Office, hoping this would spur the Petrie Dealer on. Not the case, still no reply. Guess if I don't hear something soon will have a Brand New Series 2 Nudge bar for sale. Nissan have quoted me in the vicinity of $1200 for a Series 1 Nudge including fitting. Seller has told me he paid approx. $600 when he bought it only 6 months ago. Seems to me a big difference in price considering Nissan are quoting about $210 for fitting. Any advice, comments or feedback would be welcomed. Thanks

Re: Factory Nudge Bar series I & series II

Hi Liz,

This was my reply to you in an email and I confirm that it is 100% correct. Cross my heart, hope to die LOL emoticon

quote:

In regards to the nudge bar, the dealer doesn't know what they're talking about, there is indeed a difference between the series I and series II nudge bars and one will not fit the other, as the shape of the bumper is different between the two models.

The Part Number for a Series I Nudge is F2160-8H000AU
The Part Number for a Series II Nudge is F2160-EQ000AU

Yours should have a part number on it, so you can compare it against the above part numbers

The dealer should get his act together on this one and stop trying to make it sound like a big drama, cause they're (in some cases) giving the Series I nudge bars away to customers, as it is now considered "excess stock" being for an older model.

Thanks for the part numbers, you have effectively saved me a minimum 200 bucks from an (incredibly incorrect!)Ebay purchase.

Am glad you have researched it before committing to the purchase Dave. So many sellers on eBay have no idea what they're selling!

Re:

I am pretty sure you can order these brackets from Nissan. I doubt the wrecker will give these brackets to you without the nudge bar.
