Re: Starting the exy
Dave,
Find another dealer to service your car with!
They have no access to part numbers, they think that 10-15 tries to the start the engine is normal. What are they doing in business?!!?
Have a look in the Recall thread, as Noel had the same problem and I think it was solved by using the magic "Subaru" spray that he got from the dealers.
Maybe take your car to Subaru for servicing instead of this dealer just kidding.
Seriously though, I think it's just a dirty throttle, but I also think it's too soon for it to get dirty already.
My advice, get a 2nd opinion on this from another dealer.

Re: Starting the exy
Dave,
It's not the sales mgr you need to harrass, it's the Service Mgr of the dealership you need to speak to.
Sales usually don't get involved once they sell you the car. It becomes the service department problem afterwards.
The ECU print-out wont indicate if the throttle body is dirty or not. This needs to be physically checked by them.
Under the Series I recall we had new ECU codes programmed, yet some of the guys sufferred the "Hard to start" symptom straight after the ECU was upgraded.

Re: Starting the exy
Dave,
For peace of mind, just drop in to your nearest Subaru dealer and get the throttle cleaning stuff and spray inside the throttle yourself to see if it would solve the problem, if not, then take it to the dealers and leave it overnight as they suggested to indetify the problem, which could be something else.
