Re: New X-Trail
Yeah Roger,
You guys will be getting BOTH as I mentioned previously.
I said that Canada will get the Qashqai end of this year, but it is not the xtrail replacement, I was told (by Nissan Canada sources) that they were waiting for the announcement of the xtrail replacement in Canada to compliment the Qashqai which is a no match to the exy.
The Rogue is the model they were probably waiting for and it makes sense if it is built in line with the xtrail spec.
For the Australian market, we will also get the Qashqai in February 2007, but we will continue to receive 2007 badged xtrails until late 2007 where another face-lift or new shape is on the cards (Nissan Australia sources)
I just hope Nissan Canada know what they're doing, given the VERY short time-span of the xtrail in Canada (2 years only)
If Canada gets the Rogue so early and the specifications of it will be favorable to the market (i.e. close to the xtrail) all xtrail models in Canada will take a HUGE hit in terms of their market value.

Hi Guys,
It seems the information I have received from the sources in Nissan are correct.
Part 1 of my previous statement above has come true and we have indeed received an exy with a 2007 compliance plates. The one with clear tail lights and a new member of our forum has just bought it (see photo below)
Part 2 of these rumors is also coming true and we're indeed heading toward a new (face lift) xtrail model, which will most likely be called T31 (ours is a T30) and it is due to be released later this year.
An excellent strategy by Nissan for sure to keep producing the xtrail which proved to be a complete success on the market and at the same time release a new smaller model (the Qashqai) to fill in the gap in the US market.
Exciting times a head of us and I can't wait to see what else will change with the T31

Re: New X-Trail
Yeah Jamie, it seems to have been stripped from the roof rails and also the door moulds. I think it was done on purpose as part of disguising the appearance while in design phase. The nissan badge was also removed as part of the same tactic.
The front looks to me more like the Renault.
I can't wait until March to see its release in Geneva

Re: New X-Trail
i don't like the look of it. The build quality looks horrible...almost like it is being held together with duct-tape..and is the boot lid made out of cardboard??
no really, don't you think it's funny the lengths car manufacturers go to to keep there secrets.. "we'll wrap it in a garbage bag, that'll fool them!"
almost like school children running around the playground "i know something you don't know"
can't wait til the release!

Re: New X-Trail
This is not the Qashqai mate, the Qashqai has already been released/revealed. We're talking about the new release exy here and hopefully the released version won't have any garbage bags on it LOL

Re: New X-Trail
Latest update from my sources.
The new exy will see the dash dials move to their usual place (i.e. behind the steering)
I guess you gonna have to get a HUD and mount it in the centre of the dash, if you're in love with the current centre dials LOL
There will be NO diesel or turbo versions coming to Australia with the new model.
Am slowly extracting as much info. on the new model as I can LOL
