Re:
I don't understand why you got the transfer fee mailed to you, it's normally all done at the dealer whether it is a drive away price or not.

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?
When you buy a 2nd hand car here (WA), the dept of transport send the purchaser an invoice for the transfer fees based on the market value of the car (not what you paid for it). This is done after they receive one (or both?) copies of the transfer papers that the seller and buyer both fill out.
If the price was "drive away" then yes, it should have been paid by the dealer (I assume there's some other process for that) and I should never have seen an invoice, just some document saying it was now licensed in my name. But, sadly, not how it turned out.
I'm going to complain, but I'm not going to let it destroy my enjoyment of my beautiful new car if they dig their heels in and stick me with the bill, life's too short for that sort of stuff.

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?
Picked up our new X-trail in February this year.
2012 plated ST-L. Diamond Black
Tow bar, roof racks, rear liner, rubber floor mats, bonnet protector , tank of fuel and 2 Years free car washing at the dealer.
$34,230.00. Deal was struck in the last week of January when dealers are frantically trying to meet their quotas. Probably not the hottest price ever found but certainly good enough for us to go new over second hand.
Cheers,
Michael.
Edit.. Just remembered... Could have got a white for over a grand cheaper at another dealer, but the Mrs saw the black and fell in love.

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?
Hi, Just wondering, I'm in the final stages of getting the best price I can on a new TL auto.
The list of accessories is long, all factory, including front bar, tow kit, side steps, all mats, all scuff plates, rear spoiler, weathershields, door mouldings, 6 year warranty and front tints. Would any members know if $45300 is good, bad, average? I'm hoping to get it below 45.....Any one care to venture some thoughts for a newby?
Cheers,
Phil

Re:
Hi Phil,
What Series is the TL? The latest 2013 Series 5 or is it a Series 4 stock left-over?
Is the 6 years warranty offered a Nissan Australia warranty, or the dealer is adding 3 years dealer's warranty which locks you in to servicing with that dealership?
Apart from the towbar, nudge and side steps, the rest of the accessories don't cost much, so you really need to negotiate on the price of the actual car rather than a package.

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?
Hi Jalal,
Thanks for replying. It's a brand new build (Diamond Black TL 's are to order, apparently) so a series 5 MY13. The warranty is a Nissan one. The bare car price looks to be around 40K drive away from the other (slightly higher) prices I have got. I just have no other recent sales available to base my judgements on......
Cheers,
Phil

Re:
You should be able to bring them down to the $43-$44K mark, but the 6 years Nissan Australia warranty is worth it for sure and you are saving about $1,500 with this warranty alone. Shop around and see what one other dealer offers you, so you can compare.

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?
Hi,
I purchased a 12/2009 build ST. First registered in 05/2010. It came with 6 months rego, a nissan towbar, full tint, cargo barrier , nissan floor mats and an alarm.
I paid $13,500. It is an ex government car. I have since added the fog lamp kit ($185.02) and 2012 alloys and tyres 17" for $500.00.
Buying ex goverment is not too bad. The car came with full service history.
For just over $14,000 i feel you cant go wrong.
Cheers
