Re:
It was end of month, 4X4 brand new.
We went in and said that our budget was 26k drive away firm and we'd seen them on carsales for 29k drive away demo. I said I used to work in the industry so I know you have a bit of room to move, I traded in my old commodore for 2k and my wife was able to access fleet pricing so the factory was able to give a rebate to the dealership for that.
After they did the figures they said there was no way that they could do a new car for that, we thought we were talking about a demo to start with (wires crossed). Realising this we said that we weren't out to do them over and what demo's could they offer as a dealership closer to work had already agree'd to do $26k drive away.
There was a little back and forth with the sales person and the new car sales manager and the deal was done.
We couldn't believe our luck, Auto/CVT, 4X4, rear parking sensors. The colour wasn't important to us. Perhaps being in the industry helped, i'm not sure. Either way I don't think i'd try it again

Re:
$40,000 for an ST 2.0LT 2WD model????
I thought they were around the $26,000 mark? For that kind of money why didn't you consider a 2.5LT ST demo?
