POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?

I saw this poll in an escape forum, and decided to put it here. Besides, new members trying to price an xtrail may find it interesting to know what kind of price they can negotiate. Please post comments and/or list bonuses when you negiotated your xtrail. (BTW, RRP = Recommended retail price).

Vehicle Purchased
04 TI - Auto (T/Silver)
Extras from Nissan - Bonnet Protector, Tow Bar, Roof Racks, cargo carpet

RRP
Car = $35,990
Auto =+$2,000
Paint =+$200
On roads = +$2,000 (I think?)
Extras = +$1,000 (about that I think?)

Paid = $36,990
Saving = about $5,000 : )

Extras aftermarket - Floor mats ($50), sheep skin seat covers ($150), GME UHF ($340), Tint/Rust proof/ paint protection ($850)

So, that's about it. Hope this helps.

- Dave

Can't remember the exact numbers but we had a Ti-L Sunroof pack with:

Auto transmission
Roof bars
Tow pack (the works)
Kick plates (on door sills)
Rear bumper protection plate
Window tinting
Rubber carpet mats (greatest thing since sliced bread)
Diamond white paint (the pearly one)

all that for around 40K - RRP was around 45K with the extras, on roads CTP etc.

Purchased Oct/03 Ti-L sunroof pack for $44K minus $8500 for trade in (A little under what I expected,)included from Darwin dealer:

Nudge Bar
Tinted Bonnet Protector
Electric Rust Proofing
Paint Protection (life time transferable warranty)
Leather & Vinyl protection (life time transferable warranty)
Roof Bars
Floor mats
Window Tint (lifetime transferable warranty)

Cheeky smiles from pretty brunette sales lady!

I believe there is a waiting list here in Alice Springs now, with hire companies buying them up big time. X-Trails everywhere including Govt purchases.

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?

This is straight from the manufactorers (V.I.P.)mouth:

quote:

As one of the most important treatments you can give your vehicle, Rust Protection will guard against the onset of corrosion.

VIP’s Electronic Rust Inhibitor protects exposed bare metal caused by paintwork chips and scratches. Taking rust prevention one step further, the Electronic Rust Inhibitor protects the vehicle above the window line where traditional spray coatings cannot be applied

How it works: (i found this on the www, this is not an advertisment). There are many types on the market and it depends how much you wish to pay. I thought this explanation was pretty good though.

Most vehicles are made up of several different types and grades of metals. Anytime two or more different metals are put together an electrolysis action occurs causing a loss of electrons from one metal to another. That loss of electrons combined with moisture and salts causes an oxidising reaction, which we know as rust. VIP PROTECTOR acts to store those beneficial electrons and supplies them to the other metals in your vehicle. As VIP PROTECTOR gives off its electrons; it is protecting the metals by preventing the oxidation process from beginning. VIP PROTECTOR actually sacrifices itself so the other metals in you car can stay relatively corrosion free.

You know it's working because a little green light fitted to the unit under the bonnet is always on. You can ask your mechanic to check it at service intervals as well.

Hope this helps.

Did you buy your X from Melissa at Kerry's?

Re: POLL: How much did you pay for your xtrail?

I bought mine early in May 2002 when there was bugger all discounting. Paid $38000k drive away on an auto Ti with all the carpet mats and got $2000 trade in for a rusted out and thoroughly thrashed twin cam that I'd struggle to give away. Total saving - approximately $3500.. They tried very hard to sell me paint protection, rust proofing and fabric protection. I asked politely why I needed fabric stain protection for seats that are advertised as stain resistant. She said they get dirty very easily - I differed and it turns out she was right emoticon. Seat covers fixed that though. Rust protection and paint protection... well - I don't plan to have the car for longer than my lease. If it rusts within that time or the paint peels off I'll cop it on the chin.
