I bet you don't! emoticon especially after being sighted through "satellite imaging" speeding in Cairns like someone was chasing you. hehehe emoticon

All the satellite managed to capture, was a glimpse of a gold exy flying like a rocket LOL

No mate, you don't have throttle lag, you may need to create some emoticon

Re: Throttle Lag

If any throttle lagged for 20 seconds you wouldnt be able to pass the tortoise.

I haven't driven the exy much and this is our first automatic.

It doesnt do as well as our manual Pulsar most of the time. However having said that, the exy often squeals at traffic lights (2wd mode) I feel, at least with autos that the throttle position Sensor(TPS) works quite well. Our problems with the auto not responding as well as it should is more our inexperience with autos. Both my wife and I have driven manuals our whole lives............*LMAO*..Now I have trouble with the bloody manual.*chuckle*

Re: Throttle Lag

Ummmm, Jalal...

By installing an electronic butterfly the manufacturer wants to give you a "faster"throttle response by lettting the computer give you the right amount of torque instead of the amount of opening of the butterfly as you normally do on cars that dont have this...

At least my X has an diabolic-like throttle response, BUT!!!! There was a recall 2 years ago regarding the TROTTLE MOTOR! they replaced all of them in my country because of some carbon crap damaged the TPS and the cars would almost stall after turning them on.!

After that I've had no problems with the engine, exept that it vibrates like hell on traffic lights when you leave the trans on "D"....

Hi drifking,

I know this is what is supposed to do, I just can't feel it. Maybe it'll take me another couple of years to get used to it emoticon

I'm getting better at judging the press on the accelerator for optimal throttle response though emoticon

Re: Throttle Lag

I've got a bit of a problem with the throttle in my car, too. I wouldn't call it lag, but the engine "runs on" for a couple of seconds after I've lifted my foot off the pedal, then the revs die down. It's a bit annoying as it makes for a slow gear change (mine's a manual). I've pointed it out to my local Nissan dealership & they say it's normal & there's nothing they can do anyway.

Re: Throttle Lag

Hi Jalal.

Although having limited experience with Autos the way I always understood it was that Auto Trans behave like a manual. When you change gear (up usually) in a manual you take your foot off the accelerator, the auto knows this and so changes up when you back off. Also in a manual you usually accelerate when you change down, once again the auto knows this and so changes down or kicks down. At least thats what I was led to believe.

PS I hope I havent broken the rules for posting........*LOL* I have lost the plot here I am losing my place..Well I hope I got it right this time.

Thanks Bluey, that's how I understand it to be working as well. My complain was in regards to forcing the gear to change when needed and the lack of throttle response to this.

Why do say this? We don't have rules preventing you from posting constructive feedback.

Hehehehe. I posted a reply accidentally and then I couldnt delete it. So I asked the question how to delete it and finally found your post that I was trying to reply to. It probably doesn't make much sense now, but I was completely confused last night.

Re: Throttle Lag

I have seen on several overseas forums, that a popular modification to the QR25DE engine is to 'port the throttle body'.

Will this fix the throttle lag problem s ???

Anyone know what this exactly does and how it is done.

If this works, are there any aftermarket suppliers of increased diametre throttle bodies.

Aparently 66mm is the ideal width ???.
