Re: how fast ?

Hi All,
Put a Cosmo cold air intake on the xtrail 3weeks ago and did one 0-100 test in 2wd, stomped it and with wheelspin got 9.2secs!

Re: how fast ?

My x-trail sits comfortably at 80-90 mph ---6th gear 3000-3500rpm . i think that equates to roughly 130-150 kph. 2 things i noticed , firstly it feels realy stable until the sun roof or window is open then it rocks quite badly. secondly speedo is at least 10% out ----speedo says 50 sat nav says 55 and so on.top speed i "estimate" 105-110 mph(168-175kph) all this depends on my conversions being correct.there are no engine mods on my x-trail----yet

Re: how fast ?

yeh he did, he told me it felt quite stable at that speed, no vibrations in the steering wheel or anything.

don't ask how i know so much about this particular drive please.

in separate news, i wonder how much faster my top speed will be with the turbo kit?
i know theres a direct correlation between power and top speed, but i have a feeling i will become gear limited. i dont think our 5th gear is tall enough to carry us over 200km/h, regardless of power.

but for all i care, speed above 1/4 trap speed (about 140km/h) is just wasted i.e. ill never use it...

Re: how fast ?

Acceleration will be quicker, but top speed is likely not to change at all - you'll still have the same amount of (body) wind resistance, and the gearing is also the same.

Jalal, any idea if that speed measurement is in MPH or KPH? emoticon

Re: how fast ?

poor speeding xtrail. that reminds me the 2 times ive been to jalals, both times ive been booked by sneaky cameras (nothing major just <15 over).
also tonight a certain platnuim projectile shifted from top gear into overdrive @180 which leads me to believe theres a fair bit more up its sleeve. note: was only one on this stretch of highway and its among only a handful of times its been over 130
