Re: Sun roof wind deflector ?

Hey Jalal,

Belinda and I will be away exploring Fraser Island for the next two weeks but we would be more than happy to drive down your end of town after that to trial the sunroof visor.

The giant sun roof is one of the main reasons we picked the Xtrail, any enhancements to improve it even further would be more than welcome!

Thanks.

Re: Sun roof wind deflector ?

No worries Eric,

I'll post here when I have it with me and we can then decide who will try it.

Put it this way, I won't stick it on during the trial process unless the person testing is happy to keep it emoticon

I just want to make sure it fits correctly and the quality is good.

Re: Sun roof wind deflector ?

Roger,

I have a question for you and sorry if it may sound stupid, cause I don't have a sunroof emoticon

Does your deflector has any provisions for water to escape at the front?

Say it rains heavily and you're parked on a slope where the front of the exy is facing the slope. Is there anything that would stop the rain water from collecting at the front edge of the deflector causing a mini swimming pool there? emoticon

Jalal:

To the best of my knowledge, there's no extra charge for the swimming pool emoticon

When I wash the X-T, I get quite a build up of water there and use the hose to force the suds/water out either side. By the time I get round to drying it, there's little or no build-up (so it may be "seeping" out somewhere - that's OUT not IN - I've never had a water leak problem)

Hopefully, I'll be giving her another wash on Saturday and will pay closer attention and report back....

Cheers

That'll be great Roger.

I now had the chance to get a closer look at the aftermarket sunroof deflector (still waiting to receive it) and it actually doesn't look that bad at all.

Re: Sun roof wind deflector ?

The swimming pool is empty - it self-drains.

On the OEM one, water "flows" out each of the front corners - nothing seeps "under" the width of the front where it meets the roof line - ergo, if water can't seep out, then air can't be getting in thru that point.....

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Re: Sun roof wind deflector ?

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the delay.

An order has been placed for the sunroof deflector today, so I would expect it to arrive within a week or two.
