Re: 4WD Rear Wheel Torque Display

The current or voltage from the current sensor used will be too low to power a meter directly so doing something like that would need a purpose built low-level DC current meter.
The current may also not be constant but pulsed which is not always picked up by a DC current meter and incorrectly displayed by an AC current meter.

Re:

The digital amper meter has its own power source, and intput for current measuring. But it can't connect directly between the controller and solenoid, because its internal resistance and the 4wd warning light came on. My idea is to put the inductive current sensor arround the cable and connect it to the amper meters inputs.

Re: 4WD Rear Wheel Torque Display

Then you need to find a current sensor toroid that gives a voltage output compatable with the meter you are using

No you need a DC sensing coil

One fellor said that magnetfield is a magnetfield, many sensors read both. I will give it a try.

Re:

very nice project. I am wonder this could work also no QashQai(Dualis in AU?). I think they have the same 4x4 sistem.

Re: 4WD Rear Wheel Torque Display

Thank you Domen,
The main thing to determine is if the QashQai has a signal wire to a rear electronic coupling for the 4wd or if it is a full-time all-wheel drive system.
If it has the solenoid to vary the amount of torque distributed to the rear wheels then the only other things to determine are where this wire is located and how many Amps current turns it on completely to full rear-wheel torque.
The circuit is designed to uninvasively clip over this current wire and if calibrated correctly for the correct value will work just the same as in out Xtrails.

Re:

Probably will check when I will get more time.
QQ have 3 modes on a turning knob(2WD, AUTO - torque splited up to 50:50) and LOCK(50:50).
