Head Unit install

Hi all,

Has anybody got any pics or links of/to some after market installs? I've got a bit of an issue with the clip on bezels not fitting as there a bit bigger than the x trails facia hole.

Cheers

G.

Re: Head Unit install

Hi Graham,

Please refer to the DIY Guides section HERE which includes an aftermarket head-unit install procedure.

Are you still in "Limbo Land" or have you touched down finally? LOL

Time to update the location I guess emoticon

Re: Head Unit install

Graham,

Are you sure that you looked at the right DIY Guide HERE which shows the stereo bezel in more than one photo (that is if my interpretation of the bezel is correct, meaning the Gray fascia around the stereo)

Re: Head Unit install

No, I mean the bezel you get supplied with the head unit to cover the mounting frame. Apparently these are 182 mm wide and the gap in the (cars) facia is only 178.

Re: Head Unit install

The thin bezel you're talking about are very flimsy and easily breakable.

I had to file (very carefully) the left and right side edges of my Alpine's bezel in my Pulsar to get it to fit in the DIN gap in the dash trim panel.

4mm (in your case) sounds like alot of filing (2mm on each side) and may not be a good idea. There might not be much bezel left after filing that much off!

Re: Head Unit install

Looks VERY good indeed Graham!

Was the wiring hard to figure out, or just a matter of finding the right harness adapter?
