Ground Clearance 150mm or 195mm?

Hi

Reading the Nissan website today, it states the ground clearance for the X-Trail as 150mm to 195mm.

I assume it's 150mm for the ST (15 inch wheels) and 195 for the Ti and Ti-L (16 inch wheels), although I didn't think wheel size differences would matter this much. Is the suspension set at different heights?

Can anyone clarify the ground clearance differences?

Cheers

The information in regards to a precise ground clearance for the exy is different between once source of information and the other.

Nissan Japan claims its 200mm according to THIS

South Africa also claim 200mm HERE

I think the different size rims come with different profile tyres, so wouldn't make any difference to clearance.

Maybe the difference is loaded and unloaded?

David M.

I believe you are right. The profile of the tyres is lower for 16 inch otherwise it will throw out the accuracy of the speedo. At least thats what I was told by a mate who is right into all that stuff.

I think they are saying 150mm at GVM 2000kg and 195mm at tare weight 1435kg. Might be wrong?

I have sent an email to a local nissan dealer. Hopefully they will respond soon.

The GVM and tare weight idea sounds logical, but I haven't read this on other car specs.

Re: Ground Clearance 150mm or 195mm?

I have read somewhere that the 150mm refers to the fully loaded x-trail (in context they say a minimum of 150mm clearance). 195mm is the clearance of an unloaded x-trail. It is the same for both ST and TI, the wheel/tyre combinations are virtually the same diameter.

Hey all,

Was there ever a decisive answer to this question?
