Re: Kick Plates(side doors) & Scuff plates(back door) help
And Welcome to the Forums.
I've just recently purchased and installed these items less than two weeks ago.
I bought genuine and can say they are definitely steel, stainless steel in fact. They look brilliant. The rear scuff plate is almost like a mirror.
I have to report thought; they are rather thin and appear that they will scratch fairly easily.
However still worth the buy in my opinion. Seeing as though your just getting your exy tomorrow, I'd be pushing them to throw these items in for free, or as a minimum at cost. They can be fairly expensive if you decide to buy them later, as I've just found out.
