Is it just me, or are Rob's photos not working?

Same here Rich. Something must have gone wrong, as I could see them in the morning.

Re: Towbar

Hi Guys,
I ended up getting a Hayman Reese Towbar from TJM. emoticon

Image

Not the best photo...

When we got the car back...i noticed some holes under the bumper on the ride hand side....TJM said there was nothing there in the first place....seemed strange....
Here's a pic of what i'm talking about.

Image

Anybody know what it's for? Some sort of splash plate perhaps? Thanks for any info... emoticon

Re: Towbar

Hi Jonno,

I can't tell much from the 2nd photo and its way too blurry, but when I looked at the 1st one, I couldn't see anything being cut by TJM at all. The corners of underside of the bumper are like that when new (i.e. not a straight edge)

The cool thing about the Hayman Reese towbar is that the trailer plug is actually attached to the face of the towbar and not under it (like the genuine nissan one) which means, the chances of you clipping that plug when you go off-road are second to none.

Well, am happy that we finally managed to have a look at the Hayman bar fitted to an exy.

How much was it, if you don't mind me asking?

It cost $340. That said, I think TJM made a mistake with the price (When i was ordering it over the phone, the TJM guy went to check he wasn't losing money).

These are the holes i was talking about.

What i meant to say Jalal, is that the holes are there, i was wondering if anybody has anything screwed to them though?

Re: Towbar

Hi Jonno,

I have these 2 holes on the side too, nothing is attached to them at the moment.

I wonder what goes in there? emoticon

Could be something the Japanese model has which hasn't been included in ours or could be for the Eurpoean towbar attachement which is different than ours. Am not sure, but these holes are there doing nothing at the moment.

Don't think so, as this is the side and corner of the rear bumper just above the mud-flap.

The black plastic peace/shield you're talking about sits in the centre of the rear bumper.

Re: Towbar

Hi
These holes are on the Right side of the car
On the left side, there seems to be a metal splash plate.
Could it be that this plate fits on the other side on LH drive models?????

Photo included..i can't see the actual screws...but i can't imagine how else it is connected.

Image

Next question: why would nissan only put it on one side....but then again...should i really bother asking that......emoticon

Re: Towbar

Jonno,

The actual plate is a heat shield to protect the plastic bumper from the heat generated by the exhaust tail-pipe.

On the left side it's acting as an added protective shield for the fuel evaporative canister (that black thingy) against side collisions.
