Ah, ok, thanks for the clarification. Strange that it is not shown as an option on the web site ...

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Hi Rybky
Platinum may not be on the website, but it's on the fold-out back page of the X-Trail promotional booklet, and none of the "colours" look anything like reality.
In real life, the Platinum is a real clear silver colour, just like platinum or white gold.
The Titanium seems to have a tinge of very pale brown in it, and the Twilight seems to have a pinkish tinge to it.
I think the Platinum is more silver than the Titanium Silver.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Hi Guys,

You have raised a good point about the colour differences between Series I and II.

I have the series I brochure which I got when I bought my series I exy back in 2003 and it lists the following colours and their corresponding codes (Looking at them, they're a perfect match to what they look like in real life):

Black Obsidian (KH3) this is what I have.
Burgundy (AX5)
Deep Blue Pearl (BW6)
Polar White (QM1)
Titanium Silver (KX4)
Twilight (EV0)

Tralx: Can you please list the coloures and codes for the Series II as you have them in your brochure? We can then establish the differences in the colours and the colour codes.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Copying directly from the promotional booklet I have in front of me:
Quote:
Black Obsidian (KH3)
Burgundy (AX5)*
Deep Blue Pearl (BW6)*
White Diamond (QX1)
Titanium Silver (KX4)*
Platinum (KY0)*
Twilight (EV0)*
In some cases the printed colours may vary from the actual colours.
*Indicates metallic paint which is available at extra cost.
-unquote.

Aaahh - so the white was different on the earlier models. The first test drive I had was in a white early model and it was such a brilliant gorgeous white. The new White Diamond looks grey in comparison, to my eyes at least.

Cheers
J

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Thanks trailx,

This now confirms that the following colours are new in Series II:

White Diamond (QX1)
Platinum (KY0)*

In addition to that Series I did not have the option of having metallic paint.

Has anyone taken-up the metallic paint option?

The poll is missing Polar White. All other colours are there.

P.S. Yep, the white in series I is very different than the diamnon white in series II.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

On looking at the booklet again tonight I've just realised there isn't a single female face in all 22 pages of it plus 6 page accessories liftout!!!!!
I find it interesting that I've seen more women driving X-Trails than I've seen men. I've talked to 5 women (3 sole owners) in my town, and one man.

They have rectified this in the new Murano and '05 Pathfinder booklets emoticon The new Pathy booklet is showing a female driver taking her kids on a trip emoticon

I guess the target market was set differently for the xtrail, although I agree that I also see many female xtrail drivers and they all look...happy emoticon

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Jalal in regards to black being hotter it may not be as noticable in Sydney but you sure notice the difference in Queensland.

Recently one of the guys from work was up for a new car so he took a laser tempreture gun down to the local Ford dealer. These where the rough figures of surface temp on the bonnet in degrees C.

Winter White - 60
Lightning Strike Silver - 65
Mecury Silver (Greyish) - 70
Icon Blue - 80

He didn't test a black car.
Coming from North QLD orginally I would never buy a dark car. My work car is Lightning Strike and my X-Trail is white.

Just in case you ever consider moving to God's Country emoticon

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Yep, very little black vehicles up here. In fact I'm sure there are only 3 Black X-Trails in Cairns, emoticon

That's one the reasons we choose the grandma gold (twilight), the other reason is it's one of the best colours for hiding the dirt.

As for the heat in the far north it's quite bad at present. 8:45pm at night, 39.5 degrees, 100% humidity, emoticon
