Posts Containing Long URLs

Most URL links are fairly small, however others especially Ebay items are notoriously long, which ends up stretching your post sideways making it difficult to read the entire page of the thread, as you need to scroll sideways to read all the posts.

Posting large photos does the same thing, which is why we encourage the use of thumbnails and hosting via Imageshack.

When submitting URL links from other web-sites we recommend you using the following HTML feature to auto-hide your URL link.

A typical URL posted normally would look like this when editing your post:

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

And would look like this in a post:

Re: Posts Containing Long URLs

Dear Members,

I have come across a very cool feature which will help you reduce the length of the URL links you post in a blink of an eye and it would also give you greater control in the signature box which has a specified character limit.

It's called ]TINY URL

Basically, all you have to do is put the long URL link which you want to convert in there and it will generate a MUCH shorter version for you to include in your post on the forum or use as you sit fit.

You can also incorporate this feature to be part of the Explorer Toolbar for easier access.

Give it a try.
