camper trailers

There was some talk about camper trailers at the last meet up. Here is the link to the Australian camper trailers group and forum. These range from tent-on-a-box-trailer to pop-up campers with a hard roof.

All easily towable by an xtrail.

Re:

Just purchased a camper trailer and even when loaded it will only be 650 atm.

The company we have dealt with is Swag Camper Trailers Found here.

Got it for a reasonable price and after we get the exy fitted with a Anderson plug and tow bar in the next week we can go pick it up when ready!

Regards Scot

Re:

Congrats on the trailer Scot, you see a lot of people towing this type of camper.
Better than sleeping in a tent on the ground.
Cheap too.

Re:

It depends on what type of tent and sleeping arrangements you have Tony. Some of the tents I have seen look like a small version of a house with bedrooms and kitchen areas, beds and tables emoticon The only downside is that you probably needed a trailer to fit the gear/tent in LOL emoticon

Re:

I know what you mean, some have more bedrooms and alfresco areas than many houses.
Bugger that, the simpler the better.
Thats why I used to sleep in the Xy, all you have to do is close the tailgate.

Re:

I picked up the Getaway Plus model from these guys: Tourlite Trailers a couple of months ago. We didn't have much room to store a trailer, and this suited the space we had perfectly.

Its a nice lightweight setup, and my only gripe is not having room for gas bottles or jerry cans on the outside of it.

Re:

The model in question is the sandpiper semi off road and will suit us down to the ground as we are now attending dog shows at least once a month and we can have the dogs in crates and still have room to set up a the kitchen and dining area!

The hammer tone will do well for the color of the car and if I need to later I can change the color of the red cover to blue but not real high on my list!

Re:

You might be able to fit the jerry and bottle on the A frame, or do you have a box there.
