Re: GPS navigation
Rich, what I meant was, if you take a photo, download the free program that allows you place Lat/Long on the photo, then store it on the sd card, so if you want to go to that location again, just pull the location from the photo.
I took a photo of my wife in the backyard of our place, put Lat/Long on the photo, stored it as a favourite, now whenever we go for a drive and want to come home, recall photo & Navman takes me home to her.
There is a GPS system available that allows you to navigate streets/suburbs, jump into a boat and navigate around the bay or river esturary, go off track into the desert or bush, it is three units in one.
I "think" it was a garmin unit.

Not sure if this is a good feature or not LOL
In my case I would probably get the "BEWARE" alert if I followed the long/lat setting of that photo. hahahahahahaha (just kidding)

Re: GPS navigation
Thanks Ceasar, but I gave-up on the whole GPS idea, as I think Australia is too far behind in this technology compared to what is on offer overseas and this specially applies to the accuracy of the maps and the programs that are available in the market today in Australia.
I will be better off with a street directory and the old trusted navigator (i.e. my wife)
Until such time when this technology is upto scratch, I see little reason in spending money on it.
You only need to look at the new car market and what we're getting here in Australia to realize that in-car navigation is still being considered a luxury to have in new cars, while it is a pretty basic and standard feature overseas.

Re: GPS navigation
No worries Jalal, I do understand your frustration but for me Iam not going to the old GPS for navigation(wife) at least what I got is quiet, can be manipulated, can talk if I want to.I think you have to have a look to the upmarket side of GPS you will be surprise of the difference between what you got now and the up market version. Sorry to say that you get what you pay for, also there will be an update on GPS's, very soon we will be having the traffic report that Europeans and Yanks are enjoying, hopefully soon? Check out the new Tom Tom 720 see if you can find anything you like compare to yours.best so far and by far AFAIK.
Cheers

Re: GPS navigation
Ceasar, even the top market GPS still uses the same mapping program as any of the lower priced ones, so I doubt they will be accurate and I simply refuse to pay THAT much for a device that is not perfect.
It's like the saga with Digital Television, they made all this whooha about TV signal going all digital by 2008 and started selling these set top boxes for fortune and they were full of bugs and problems, we will be in 2008 in one month time and I expect that analogue TV signal will still be us for another 5 years before they finally get it right.

Re: GPS navigation
If, like me, you have an Eclipse GPS in your Exy, the latest map (2016 Q1) updates are now available from Naviextras.
Unfortunately, this will be my final data download from Naviextras as the 'Free 3-year map updates' card which Nissan Melb sent me after I bought the car in Aug, 2013 will expire prior to the next release - and I can't justify spending USD$119.95 (AUD$157.58 today) twice, sometimes 3, times per annum. For a DIY data download????
No, if I happen into an area where my Eclipse is steering me wrong, I'll take my trusty Garmin (yes, the one with 'Free Lifetime Map Updates' - just like Navman and TomTom) out of the glovebox and use it.
This 'pay-for-GPS-map-updates' seems to me to be simply a rort on the part of car manufacturers, 'cause they all do it....must be worth a fortune to them.
