ARB Color-coded nudge bar!

Had it installed on thursday, it looks fantastic.

They color-coded it the same pearly white (Nissan call it diamond white) as the car. I was expecting flat white.

Only issue I had was that they attached a white bar to a white plate (which connects to the chassis) with black bolts..... Looked a little silly so I've painted the bolts white with some touch-up paint.

oh.. and they put an ARB sticker on the back window.. wife wasn't too happy about that....

Will post pphotos later on today.

Yeah dviv, post some photos as soon as you can. I only saw one xtrail with a colour coded nudge and it was black. Looked very nice.

Did you put any lights on? or is this the next step?

Fixing up the photos right now.....

Will be posted in half an hour or so.

Lights are on the way.... A friend has a set of the old version of the Hella Rallye 2000 which he is selling me - they are pretty impressive. Much better than the current version.

Hopefully I'll have them on by next weekend (probably not wired in yet tho)

Re: ARB Color-coded nudge bar!

That's very cool dviv, but why didn't they paint the middle part of the nudge as well.

The good thing about this nudge is that you have plenty of room to fit any lights you want (yes, even Richi's 240's by the looks of it) emoticon

The other good thing I like about your nudge, is that it's top edge is visible to you from the drivers seat. (correct?)

Did you end-up visting the auto electrician to have your tail lights modified, if not, it could be a good opportunity to do both (tail light mod and driving lights)

Re: ARB Color-coded nudge bar!

The center brace is a kind of brushed aluminium type look. Not sure why, but it's supposed to look like that.

The top is JUST visible when I'm driving (not to the wife tho.. she's too short emoticon )

The ARB guy said it will take pretty much any driving light available, so once I've got a wiring loom I can take it and get it all done at once.

Any ideas where the best place to get the loom is? ARB wanted $110 for the loom and another $100 to install the wiring and mount the lights. Sounded a bit steep to me. Anybody know how much Nissan want for the factory ones?

Re: ARB Color-coded nudge bar!

I went for the ARB one too - good price and nice design, IMO. I went for the grey/hammertone finish - cost factor really. Finally got some pics organised - http://photos.yahoo.com/bch1_au.

I can just see the top as well, which is handy. One criticism - the light mountings aren't set back all that much, so my Narva Ultimas actually stick out a bit in front. Not ideal. Oh and my brushed aluminium brace is stained with bugs and dirt already. Not sure what to polish it with.

Cheers,
Brenton

Looks nice as well. You should be able to polish it up pretty easily with a metal polish available at any repco ect (about 10-15 dollars)
Does the ARB bar use the recovery points as securing points?
cheers

Re: ARB Color-coded nudge bar!

Yeah I think it does Peter. I seem to remember that I got the original tow-hooks given back to me, as the bar mounts onto those points, and has replacement hooks attached to the bar.

Mine was $346 fitted, and ARB charged me $70 to fit the Narvas that I supplied.
