Re: GPS navigation

Hello, good peoples!

Garmin map updates, to version 2020.30, are now available.
Usual methodology;
Download latest Garmin Express, v6.18.0.0
Connect your GPS to the computer,
Download Full Coverage of Australia and NZ, v2020.30
Naturally, to save memory on your GPS, read thru the list of downloads and don't worry 'bout downloading overseas features.

Simples!

G'day everyone,

Free Garmin Lifetime Map Updates, to version 2021.10, are now available.
Usual methodology;
Download latest Garmin Express, v6.20.0.0
Connect your GPS to the computer,
Download Full Coverage of Australia and NZ, v2021.10

As usual, to save memory on your GPS, read thru the list of downloads and don't worry 'bout downloading overseas features.

Easy.

As a matter of interest - I had a look at updating my in-dash GPS, which is an Eclipse brand radio, stereo, Bluetooth phone, rear-view camera unit, using Naviextras supplied maps.
Ah, hmmm.
To update to 2019 Q4 maps would cost USD$119.95. That's AUD$178.52 at todays exchange rate....for ONE quarter! Multiply that by four, for the year.

You and I are among the lucky few.
Garmin servers have gone down for a couple of days now, and possibly need further work to bring them back up. Cest la vie. :-(

Re: GPS navigation

Hello Ladies and Gents,
The latest Garmin Free Map Updates is now available.
You'll need to log on to Garmin Express and most likely download latest version 7.1.4.0
Once you've done that, plug in your Garmin GPS and let it find the latest update...version 2021.30
As usual UNTICK all of the boxes which you are unlikely to us, like Macedonia, Montenegro, Fiji et al and only download Australia v2021.30
...and Robert's your father's brother! Bingo.

Re: GPS navigation

Always a pleasure, assisting members (and yourself emoticon ) stay up-to-date with the latest in Garmin updates.
Next update circa New Years...or a bit after.

Dr. Bill

BTW; I've just looked-up the current cost of upgrading my onboard GPS to the 'latest' maps, and yep, it's still USD $119.95 !!! Long live Garmin. emoticon
