Replacement Radiator Drain Plug

Happy New Year everyone. I have not been on this forum for a while and happy to be back.
While draining my radiator I damaged the little white nylon screw-in plug that lives in the bottom of the radiator.
It is 10-12mm fine thread and has a Hex and Philips head, no 'wing'.
My car is a 2014 Renault Koleos with your bog standard 2.5 lit T-31 X-Trail petrol engine. Most parts are interchangeable.
Renault do not sell replacement screw-plugs or washers, and told me the only way to get one is to buy a whole new radiator. Don't laugh! It is true!
I offer to pay a King's ransom for a good, new or old, replacement plug that fits. Does not have to be exactly the same.
Here is hoping!
Regards, Breiti in Manly West, Qld.

Re: Radiator Drain Plug

Why not try Auto Air and Radiators, 2/1440 New Cleveland Rd, Chandler, or Brisbane Radiator Service, 3/55 Proprietary St, Tingalpa.
I'm sure they'd be able to sell you the nylon plug (maybe even with the wings) at nowhere near the price of Renault spares. :-)

Re: Radiator Drain Plug

Thank you Mr BPxtrail for your kind and helpful response. While you appear to live in Canberra you have taken the trouble to point me to two possible sources, both of which are almost within walking distance to where I live. I will certainly follow them up.
I have tried a few likely suppliers, including radiator specialists, but so far no-one can help. I find this really surprising, seeing that draining radiators is a common maintenance procedure, like doing an oil change. Yet oil drain plugs are a dime a dozen at Supercheap and elsewhere, radiator drain plugs are unobtainable. Strange.
Regarding Renault: I was not kidding when I said that they will only sell the radiator complete with plug, but not the plug or sealing washer seperately - although they say: "replace sealing ring when re-fitting the drain plug". It is indeed a strange world out there.
