Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

I searched for the wiring instructions which I had for the NS023 fog lights set, but I can't find them, as it's been a while since the Online Shop had these fog lights in stock and they're no longer available. I do remember that you need to tap into the power from the fuse to power up the switch and that you should NOT tap into the parkers as it is illegal to have the fog lights on all the time.

If in doubt take it to the local auto electrician to wire-up.

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

Brian is correct Jalal.
Fog lights can ONLY come on when parkers or headlights are switched on and the switch power has to come from the parking light circuit via the stand-alone switch to power the relay which switches the foglamps.

Re:

I don't think that's what Brian meant Kev, he wanted to splice into the parkers and power the fog lights from the parkers, which would make the fog lights come-on all the time! That's how I read his question.

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

Brian,
If the kit does not come with a relay then you will need one. Our T30 Xtrails power the parkers and lights directly through the stalk switch (no relays) so these small contacts already have enough current to handle without the extra 10A added to them which would shortly them burn-out. It was previously mentioned here

So what you would want is something like this

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

Have a look at this site for comparisons, ok its Uk but the bulbs should be available in Aus.
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-maintenance/60969/headlight-bulbs-tested

I fitted high wattage bulbs to my old Volvo and after a couple of years the car failed its MOT as the silver? had deterated, probably because of the heat. The Volvo had a glass front lens, the XT is plastic so I would be more conserned.

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

I'm looking to fit foglights to our 2007 T30-II ST-S auto.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has fitted either Nissan OEM or aftermarket foglights to this model.

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

Hi all,

I might be reviving an old thread but its worth a mention.

I recently went through a fog light phase where i tried 2 or 3 sets and finally stopped at a set i liked.

These lights require a little knowledge of what + and - means in a 12v system, but are very DIY.

I stopped at the below look;

This last photo does not do the lights justice as they are perfect circles.

The best part is they are recognised as DRL lights not fog lights.
as long as they dim when low beam is turned on they can run 24/7

Happy days!

Nicely done! Looks absolutely fabulous, but please let us know where you bought these, how much they cost, and are they wired through ignition or via the Nissan fog light switch.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

Hi Bp,

These lights were bought on Aliexpress.

They advertise these as plug and play but they are not.
There are 4 wires that need to be connected into the main loom.

I have played around with a few different combos and when and what turns on and have finished/settled on the Angel eye as the DRL when key in acc mode, The DRL on with low beam, and the yellow fog light on a separate switch. The only thing extra that I did is to put a relay between the angel eye and low beam so that the angel eye turns of after low beam power on.

I guess if you have a working fog light loom available you could hook into that as well.

These sets go for around $115Aud delivered to your door.

cheers,
Tom
