T30 water leak

    Hi guys,

. I recently bought a X-trail T30, 2001 model, and water is leaking from the inside rear mirror. I removed the mirror and I saw water dripping from 2 rusty points in the inside frame of the roof.
. When I poor water near the antena it doesn't leak inside, only when it rains emoticon
I hope this is a common problem and somebody can tell me how to fix it before a attack the car with duct tape and lots of foam emoticon

Re: T30 water leak

It may be one of the fixing points of the roof rails either side.
Pour some water near them and see if the leak appears.

Re:

The most accurate diagnosis would be to try and remove the head-lining and see where the leak is coming from but in my 10+ experience with xtrails, I have never come across one that leaked from the roof and am including my own T30 in this statement, even after I drilled the roof to pass through the wiring for the hyper roof rails with lights. If it is caused by rust around the base of the antenna, then it's a different matter.

Thanks guys for your sugestions, I'm on vacation now but I'll try to fix it when I get back home. It's not leaking around the antenna unfortunatly, that would've been a quick fix emoticon.

Re: T30 water leak

So....after many nights lost in the garage ( my man cave ) with a hose in one hand and a flashlight in the other ....I realized the leakage was caused by a crappy windscreen replacement a few years ago. The mecanics scrached the paint when they removed the old windscreen, the bloody rust developed in time, even under the silicon used to glue it to the body frame and small holes appeared!! emoticon
A small mistake then.....lots of swearing now!! emoticon

   Thanks again for your suggestions!!!!
