Replacing Clock Spring on T31 XTrail

I recently bought a used Nissan X Trail T31 2.5 CVT 4X4. The air bag light started flashing after a few days. The code referred to Clock Spring. I have read on different forums that replacing clock spring may mess up steering angel sensor calibration. My question is that if it is possible to replace clock spring without necessarily going to dealer? Will i require a machine to calibrate if VDC light comes on? If possible, can someone recommend a tool that can calibrate steering wheel angel sensor. Any information will be much appreciated. I love the car in general but this issue is stressing me.

Re:

Dear all,
Today I managed to get the clock spring replacement issue sorted. Please note that steering angel sensor calibration is needed after replacing clocknspring. In my case nissan mobile Mechanic did it with consult III plus. I would also like to share that if you ever have to remove clock spring, make sure that you don't move it. Use cable ties or something to keep it where they were. Also try to remove it by keeping steering wheel straight. Wrong installation and a little extra turn can snap the cable.
