Sensitive brakes, accelerator and steering

We bought a 2007 X-Trail ST-S yesterday. I'll be using it more than my partner as he has a motorcycle so it needs to be comfortable for me to drive but I'm finding the brakes, accelerator and steering so sensitive it's a bit scary! Our previous car was a Hyundai Grandeur and I didn't have any of those problems with it. Is this normal for an X-Trail? Is there anything I can do to change this?

Re: Sensitive brakes, accelerator and steering

Hi Mad....

Sensitive could mean a lot of things.

Could you provide more details about the car.

Km's travelled, service history, exact model, any non-standard components you are aware of, etc....

cheers,
Tom

Re: Sensitive brakes, accelerator and steering

It's ok - the more I drive it, the more I'm getting used to it. Our last car was like driving a very comfortable tank so the X-Trail is very different. I'm even beginning to like it!

Re:

different cars, different feel. the power steering in the T30's are extremely light(can turn the wheel with one finger) brakes in general are fantastic and the accelerator is Drive by wire(almost the norm on everything these days)

I remember when we bought lexy, I was in the same boat. I was amazed at how sharp and responsive it is for a small suv/4wd... its borderline sporty. you become used to it as you drive it more..
If you have moved from a sedan to the xtrail the added height off the ground can throw you off. I find climbing into a sports car/sedan these days weird and feels faster even at the same speed because of being closer to the ground
