Re:

Jalal I respectfully disagree.

5.5 hours is plenty of time to complete the work, especially when it has been booked in for two weeks, and they knew exactly what service it was and what was involved. It is not my issue if they overbook themselves when they know what sort of work is coming in and cant complete it within a reasonable time frame. ( if I did this to my customers as a small business, id have none left)

They did not tell me at the time it was not possible or unreasonable, as you said the service only takes 3 hours according to the "schedule" there is another 2.5 hours I have allowed in that case, seems plenty.

Not really any other dealers close by that I can use, otherwise I would have done so already.

You are correct that if it was unreasonable to have the vehicle ready in that time they should have said so, but they did not. That being the case I am assuming they also agree its possible.

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

I'm just puzzled by price for simple diagnostics at my local Nissan Dealer Service
My X-trail T30 series 2 started playing up when cold starting or restarting after stalling.
I replaced both Cam and Crank sensors so I thought I'll get Nissan for them to
connect diagnostic tool and tell me if there is anything else and reset error faults.
I was told it will cost me from $160 (it may go up from there) and leave vehicle overnight.
I didn't go ahead with it.
How long does it take to plug in and clear the faults. It takes me 10 minutes on my wife's Subaru and that's while drinking a coffee.
Shame my diagnostics software won't work with Nissan.
Is this a standard price or Nissan Dealer Service is being greedy?

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

I was charged $88.00 for 1 hours labour to check the vehicles diagnostics and a few other things. I don't know about the quote they gave you, but they would probably need to keep it overnight so they can try and fault it when it's cold first thing in the morning.

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

I'll be happy with $88 and leaving car overnight but $160 is bit high considering
he was saying it will probably cost even more. This completely put me off.

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

My Dealer is getting greedy.

The desk jockey overquoted by about $120 on the 80K service and was unhappy when i jerked him into line with a reference to the guaranteed service fee.

The prick actually wanted to argue with me!

Also, they stopped washing the car about 18 months ago and the free gifts (cost them $2 but gave then $100's of business) stopped about that time.

Time to move on.

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

On feedback from a few members on here (thanks guys!), I recently took the time to take my Diesel Xtrail to Ferntree Gully Nissan for its 80,000km service and a check over, its first visit to a Nissan dealer since I bought the car about 12 months ago. I gave it an oil and filter change about 5000k ago and installed a K&N air filter.

These guys quoted me a fixed price but was a bit cheaper as I provided the engine oil, filter and brake pads which I had purchased on special already from Supercheap.

During the service they even sent to my mobile a video of my car up on the hoist with the wheels off with Barry the service bloke, running through the details under the car! Also gave me details on tyre tread depth and the battery check which were good. Great stuff!

The pollen filter, fuel strainer assembly plus driveline oil were replaced, all up $717.

Pretty happy with them, no dramas at all. emoticon

Re: Nissan Dealer Experience (The Good & Bad)

Dissapointed with last 160K service at Grand Nissan Morphett Vale. Following service, their report indicated

1 Drive belt is frayed Cost $280
2 Oil cooler leak Cost $870
3 Rear brake pads minimal. Cost $340 inc machining
4 Rear control arm bushes cracked. Approx $700

Purchased new aftermarket control arms from CV AUto ($209) New drive belt and rear pads from Supercheap ($93) Oil cooler gasket as per this forum ($20)

Had Automasters fit control arms, brakes and machining, and drive belt Total $570

On inspection Drive belt has NO fraying (was replaced at 100K), and oil leak was a smear which was wiped off.

Note that forum rarely used these days.
