All good now. I will be look at raising the height later this year so the 4mm drop won't matter. I am still interested in the strut bar.

Re: T31 bash plates (Full Undercarriage Protection Set)

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with the TJM plate. It caused a vibration throughout the rev range as the lower rear engine mount was resting on the plate. I spaced it out like you did and problem solved. I also bent the front outer edges up so they don't catch on anything. My kit came with an extra 2 U bolts, so I drilled 2 holes in the bash plate and used them rather than the other 2 bolts that came with the kit. The holes are already in the crossmember/ subframe. It's a stronger clamp at the rear that way, and I cut the U bolts down so very little thread is past the nut. (I used locknuts). BTW, I've been waiting 4 weeks now for Dobinsons Springs, out of stock apparently.
Edit, just saw your photo. Use flat washers and locknuts as those nuts can work loose, and use some threaded rod to make the 2 rear U bolts. Just a thought.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for the extra info. I have just used the half U bolts for the back at the moment. Mine also came with 2 extra U bolts at I might fit at a latter time.

Re: T31 bash plates (Full Undercarriage Protection Set)

Guys,

After some research and several hours under the car I have managed to manufacture a 3mm bash plate for the Exy.

While I was at it, I also covered the tubes carrying the brake fluid and fuel etc. at the same time.

The only part left to cover/protect is the diff and rear bumper.

Surprisingly it has only cost me approx $120 and around 2 hours labor.

Re: T31 bash plates (Full Undercarriage Protection Set)

Does anyone have any experience with these bashplates and a T30 Xtrail? I have a 2007 T30 and was wondering if those plates are still available for order and if they would suit said xtrail model. If anyone can help with this enquiry, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
