Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS/DVD & Multimedia Head units reviews & options

Update on the $19 Units:

I actually ordered 2 units; each from a different shop in china.

Number one has been closed by eBay/PayPal and my $19 refunded!!

Second one - eBay closed the shop but told me not to worry; and so I promptly raised a dispute.
PayPal sent me a tracking number from the supplier that they contacted in China so I have to wait another week to see if it arrives - would be a miracle but you never know!

Tracking said it left the shop and after 3 events went to Hong Kong International Airport!

No AusPost tracking available after that, so now waiting, and waiting . . . . . . .

Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS/DVD & Multimedia Head units reviews & options

Has anyone installed a Eonon unit in a t30 ii.

From reading the thread it seems some will fit but with a wiring adapter and some mounting bracket modifications.

Can anyone recommend me a model or just how much modification is required.

Thanks

Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS/DVD & Multimedia Head units reviews & options

Hi guys, I'm planning to upgrade stereo unit on my exy 2012 Ti. Just quoted fairfield audio sydney. head unit philips ced1800bt with nav. For $600 installed. They Promised me that all factory default will be working including steering control with phone button, AVM, and car inbuilt microphone.

Any suggestions whether its too expensive or not? I hate stock head unit so much, its ugly n out of date map.

Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS/DVD & Multimedia Head units reviews & options

After months searching aftermarket headunit to replace stock 2012 ti h/u with AVM and out of date map. Finally found this 7" touch screen with fascia for nissan x-trail from aliexpress.com. Cost about US $370 including delivery with DHL. Take about 7days from ordering till finally arrived. Bluetooth, latest IGO map and safety cam + rear parking cam also included. Plug and play for non AVM stock h/u as it comes with nissan socket adapter. In my case, I just connect 3 wires which is battery  (yellow), 12v (red) and ground (balck) just to power up the unit. Then i connect the AV to head rest monitor. It uses fm transmitter for audio. So far I'm happy with the unit. stock h/u for reverse AVM and running radio transmitter. 9" scheneider headrest dvd bought separately from local audio shop for AUD $550. I'm not sure how to post pictures. Some links for pic.

Jalal thanks for directing me to this thread. I wasn't sure before.

Re:

Its from Aliexpress, so ick111 should be able to post it up.

Would love to know where it came from and what maps it has.

I wonder if this would just click straight into a 2012 TS

Re:

Hi all,

I'm new to the forums. I must say this particular topic is an amazing read. Spent about 4 hours last night getting through it all.

I just picked myself up a 2005 Nissan Xtrail T30 II Ti-L.

My question really is what's the trend now? As a lot of the recommendations here are from a couple of years back I assume there are newer products now.

Key brands I picked up on throughout this review are:
- VMS Current Model seems to be an X500 priced at $995 Including Camera or $895 without
- Brash Imports have a couple of ebay listings starting from $535
- Dig Options have a couple of ebay listings starting from $559
- Eonon GM5168 ($389 with AU/NZ Maps) or D5168Z ($359 with AU/NZ Maps) no reversing camera function?
- Ali Express which have a range of products

Key things I have been told to look for happy to be corrected:
- OS Android
- GPS system whereis
- Camera
- External GPS antenna
- Plug and play so all adapters provided

Thanks in advance

Michael.

Re:

I'd go with an Android based China sourced all in one unit if value for money is a priority and GPS a necessity, otherwise the Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpines etc sans GPS are better quality, GPS in the known brands add significantly to the cost of the unit. The T30 is a standard 2 din fitment so the choice in head unit is a endless. Eonon do some pretty good units And their software interface is pretty solid. Don't be put off by DIY stereo upgrade, xtrail is the easiest car to work on, one bolt gives you access to the stereo, 4 screws remove the unit buy a $15 Aerpro Nissan to ISO adaptor and your as good as done.
