Re:

As I said above, the company in Taiwan which used to manufacture the T30 hyper roof rails have discontinued them and no longer makes them. I have enquired about them as recently as last month and this is what they said:

quote:

Dear Jalai,

First, thank you for emailing us.
I am sorry to tell you that we discontinued this item.
If you still have other request, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

You have to look for them at the wrecker yards or try eBay UK.

Re:

Hi Jalal,

I've purchased a pair of T30 hyper rails used for $250 and the dealer will fit them for $500.

I know you said to get everything when you pick them up but I'm not sure what the wiring harness looks like... Do you know the part number or have a pic?

Also is there then a switch that leads into the dash to turn them on?

Thanks!

Re:

Don't worry about the wiring harness, as the wiring would need to be run as a completely new circuit from the roof lights to the fuse box under the steering wheel and they need to fit a new switch for you too.

Post a pic when you get them fitted emoticon

Re:

Hey Guys and Gals

i have read this forum post about 20 times (or at least it feels like it) and have come to the conclusion that i will be making my own crossbars from a local aluminium supplier.

i found the covers on my t30 2007 xtrails hyper rails and took the front ones off to expose a single holed mounts. so i will be using a 65mmx18mmx1100mm rectangular aluminium and drilling a whole in each end, then using a threaded bolt with lock tight wing nut to mount it. As for the template, well i will just mark out and cut it accordingly emoticon

this all the plan and pics and steps will follow.

on a side note - does anyone here have a how to: to open the hyper rails rear mounting cover?

thanks all.

Re: T30 Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Hi Guys im from the uk and aware this thread is a bit old but looking to retro-fit a hyper rail on to my 2005 x-trail SPORT T3O UK spec ,can you confirm that the holes used for the existing factory rail can be used to fit the hyper rail and the only holes i would need to drill is for the wiring for the lights also is the wiring to the switch fitted in all x-trails if anyone can contact "jalalski" for me to help would be great. thanks great site guys

Re: T30 Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Hi Dean,

I can confirm that no other holes are required to fit the hyper rails in place and they will use the same fixing points as the existing roof rails. You can also get away with not needing to drill any holes for the wiring and run the wires through the back of the tail lights using the existing rubber grommets to run the wires inside the car. There is no electrical circuit for the hyper roof rails light, so a brand new circuit, switch and fuse will be required.

Hope this helps.

Re: T30 Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Great and thanks Jalalski much appreciated and im sure a few guys will thank you from our UK x-trail forum once i pass this info on, only trouble is they are getting really hard to find more or less from car breakers now, tried getting the T30 rack new from china but they are only making the T31 and T32 model racks anyway wonder if they would fit the older T30? thanks again and i will put a note on this when complete if ever! as it involves loosening the head lining cheers emoticon

Re:

No problems mate and nope the T31 and T32 ones won't fit, as the roof is wider than the T30.
