Polished alloy nudge bar stained by car wash

Hello, anyone got any tips for removing the staining that my ECB alloy bar has got from the auto car wash the missus insists on using? The problem looks like a streaky stain, not powdery at all, and won't rub out or wash off with white vinegar.
Thanks....

The cleaning chemicals used at Auto carwash are generally very harsh, great at cleaning but ultimately not great for the paint, rubbers and alloy. To be honest you are better stumping up $10 for a small tube of Autosol Metal polish, readily available at all auto stores and comes in a few flavours like for aluminium, anodised alloy, steel etc, made for specifically for cleaning/polishing bull bars and various metals on cars. Should make short work of that stain.

Thanks xr5, that's what the nice guy at ECB told me. Apparently they have their own polish available from their dealers, but Autosol is also what they recommend. I'll give it a go.
Cheers,
Phild

Years ago when I used to ride motorbikes I used toothpaste on my stainless steel mufflers.

How did the Autosol go on the polished metal?

I was told brite shine (unsure of spelling) works really good.
Said that it would make the ECB bar shine and remove scratches.

Haven't tried it myself though.

Hi Ben, good question! I bought some Autosol on special at supercheap (2 for $10) but havn't had the chance to try it. I'll let you know when I do.
