Re:

is there any way of copying the data on the 2014 map cards onto another SD card for all of us that got stiffed by nissan into having a 3 year out of date map on a brand new car.

No and this question has already been asked before. Each card a key that will enable to work only with the GPS unit it is paired with.

Re:

Hi all,

Update : I am officially the owner of a brand new exy! whoo hoo - my first brand new car ever! emoticon

Ill put a post in the member's section with some piccies soon.

So a quick summary of what's what:

1) Went to collect the X-Trail and was informed that the latest version of the maps were currently installed. As mentioned in previous posts this was showing as :

CONNECT_2012_AUSNZL v3

Photo - Click me

Since I was informed by another Brisbane Nissan dealer that 2014 was the latest maps I was a bit miffed/confused/puzzled/annoyed. I therefore called Nissan Australia and asked them to confirm (I gave them my VIN) what the latest maps for my vehicle were.

After a few moments of reluctancy by the customer service agent (he just couldn't get over the fact that I wanted Nissan AUSTRALIA to give me guidance NOT a local Nissan franchised dealer who has given me three different answers thus far) I finally got from him a Nissan part number. The stupidity of the whole thing is that he was unable to tell me what map version the part number relates to. Furthermore the Nissan part number doesn't appear on the SDCARD either so I couldnt check if I already had that SDCARD. emoticon

Anyways, the dealer where I was purchasing my X-Trail from kindly agreed to get the part ordered and then see what version of maps it contained. Well after a weekend I went down to the service centre and low and behold, the card was there and it was exactly the same as the card which was in my Exy.

Here's a summary of my findings:

Nissan Part# 25920LCN

This correlates to the following information:

CONNECT_2012_AUSNZL v3 (as displayed on the navigation unit when querying the map data)

AUSTRALIA 19, NEW ZEALAND 8, NISSAN LCN (as printed on the front of the SDCARD)
Photo - Click Me

BH1118016134D (as printed on the back of the SDCARD)

So unfortunately I have to report that according to the information I have been provided by Nissan Australia, 2012 v3 is the latest version of maps as of July 2014 emoticon

I have written an email to my Nissan dealer - Springwood Nissan in Brisbane (who so far has been very helpful and understanding):

Hi xxxx,

Just a quick update for you regarding the sat nav map updates on my 2013 X-Trail T31 Ti (JN1TANT31A0xxxxxx). I popped into the Springwood Nissan service centre on Monday and met with the service manager and the service team there. I found them to be very professional and helpful and would like to thank them for their assistance.

The new SDCARD (Nissan part# 25920LCN) was present and based on the numbers actually printed on the card, it seemed likely that the sat nav maps were going to be the same as the ones installed in my X-Trail upon collection from you on Thursday 3rd July. As expected, when it was inserted into the unit it turned out that this was exactly the case and the maps were no different to the ones on the existing SDCARD.

So essentially, the part number provided by Nissan Australia (25920LCN) correlates to the 2012 v3 maps (CONNECT_2012_AUSNZL v3). Obviously it is a little frustrating that the maps are two years old but if those are the latest available for my car then I guess that is that. It would also be helpful if Nissan Australia actually printed their quoted Nissan part number on the SDCard or at least knew what Nissan part number correlated to the actual version of the maps and the numbers printed on the the SDCARD itself.

So to summarise, xxx at Nissan Australia informed me (and yourself) on 3/July that the most recent SATNAV updates for my car was Nissan Part# 25920LCN

This correlates to the following information:

CONNECT_2012_AUSNZL v3 (as displayed on the navigation unit when querying the map data)
AUSTRALIA 19, NEW ZEALAND 8, NISSAN LCN (as printed on the front of the SDCARD)
BH1118016134D (as printed on the back of the SDCARD)

I’d like you to share this feedback with Nissan Australia as I think it can be quite frustrating for vehicle owners and having a clear message from Nissan head office would be the best way for owners to know exactly what is the latest map version for their vehicle. Furthermore, I did speak to at two other Nissan dealers in Brisbane (not Springwood Nissan) both giving me different (incorrect) responses to what the latest map version was for a 2013 T31 X-Trail was:

Nissan Dealer 1: "We can’t tell you the version. The map upgrade means the satnav unit has to be physically opened up and the chips physically replaced within the unit itself – it is not a simple process of replacing a SDCARD."

Nissan Dealer 2: "2014 is the latest map version for the Nissan 2013 T31 X-Trail"

As you can see, these other Nissan dealers couldn't give me the correct details either (the response from Dealer 1 is somewhat worrying as it is a total fabrication of the truth and this was direct from someone in the parts department at that dealership)

Having said all that, I wanted to thank you and all the team at Springwood Nissan and the patience you had with me during the purchase process.

Hi Harry,

Congrats mate.

Please post the information above in the relevant Nissan Connect system thread HERE where this information will be most useful, as there are owners who are currently asking for this information. Thanks mate.

Re: Run out T31 Ti new car pre-delivery checks

cheers buddy - (i've just discovered the X-Trail accessories page (XTrail Shop) and im trying very hard not to order anything just yet... MUST RESIST MUST RESIST...RESISTANCE IS FUTILE..arghhh)

I've put the details in the connect thread as requested - hopefully it provides some help to other exy owners trying to figure out what the latest version of maps currently is. Who would have thought it would be so hard to extract that information from Nissan Australia!

If I ever get a reply back from Nissan customer services I will of course let you all know (hmm don't think ill be holding my breath...)
