Run out T31 Ti new car pre-delivery checks

Hi all

I'm on the verge of securing a brand new 2013 (built July-2013) T31 Ti in the coming week. Ive basically got the deal done and should be collecting the car next week subject to a satisfactory viewing.

obviously with the EOFY deals on and this being the run out model, i didnt pay list. What do people think of $38500 (OTR) with spec as follows:

standard T31 Ti spec (AVM, heated leather, sunroof etc...)
brilliant silver
carpet mats
boot mat
sill kick plates
scuff plate
headlight covers
bonnet protector
update of the satnav with latest maps

Secondly, since i am inspecting the vehicle soon, is there any advice on what to look for or check? My only concern is that the vehicle has probably been sitting here in Aus for about 6 months in a warehouse/yard. I just want to make sure i check anything which could be an issue before they start putting all my accessories on the car.

What would be an acceptable nunber of km's on a new vehicle? I just want to ensure im not being given an ex demo!

Thanks! fingers crossed this time next week I will belong to the X-trail community emoticon

Re: Run out T31 Ti new car pre-delivery checks

I was told by the local dealer that 2012 v3 are the latest maps. There are like two years out of date to start with. Make sure you get it in writing as to the actual year the map version is dated that you are going to get.
I think I will end up with my old Garmin with free life-time updates on the dash of my T31.

I don't know what Nissan are thinking by giving two year old, out of date maps to new car buyers, - very poor customer service/relationship building if you ask me.

Re:

thanks for the replies.

Just went to see the car. Great news so far... car only had 12km on the clocks and apart from a slight fading to the side plastics on the front seats it looked in great condition. I think the plastic just needs some interior plastic gel/spray to get it looking a nice deep black again (nevertheless its not too major).

The satnav maps were 2012 as expected and i made a point of showing that to the sales agent and said it needs to be updated to the 2014 maps as agreed. This should be done for next week when i do the final check and when all the other accessories have been put on the car.

Now im in the super paranoid phase where im just waiting for something to go wrong or the dealer to come up with some nonsense about not being able to source this that or the other blah blah blah.

Right, im off to knock on some wood, kiss a shamrock whilst stroking a bunny's foot.

Re:

If they haven't done everything that you request them to do and you drive away. It will be too late.
That is what has caught many people with things not done as requested for delivery.

At least you know what state the car is in now and can keep tabs on the dealer emoticon

Re: Run out T31 Ti new car pre-delivery checks

Yes exactly - and that is what i said to the sales agent today. I told them to not expect me to accept anything less than what I have agreed and what is on the contract/sales doc. I explicitly said I wont be accepting the car without everything as discussed, no matter what promises they give me that they will fix or provide something "at a later date". I have also got in writing they will be giving me a full refund (including deposit and the fee for my bank cheque) should anything happen which means i don't follow through with the deal.

I am expecting a call from them on Monday with a final date when I can collect the car with everything included as agreed. Its going to be a long weekend!

oh .. and this is the first brand new car I have ever purchased (hence the paranoia) emoticon

Re: Run out T31 Ti new car pre-delivery checks

Congrats on the purchase, buddy! Enjoy the new car smell!!

When picking up our new T31 last year, my wife and I also invited a friend to come along coz more eyes the better. Whilst the dealer and I sat down finalising the paperwork, the balance of the team took their time examining the car.

Obviously there's nothing they could check when it comes to mechanical stuff but they left no stone un-turned when it comes to build date plate, paint, accessories fit-outs, upholstery and electronics.

Bring a pair of polarising sunglasses. With them on you might be able to see any less perfect paint spots on the panel.

Also consider playing dumb with in-car electronics and ask the staff to show you everything, from tuning radio to pairing your mobile via bluetooth. That way you can be sure they all work.

A full tank of fuel, of course. Well, you most probably already know that.

Good luck and congrats again!! Happy days ahead!!!

When I picked-up my Red Bull T31 exactly 3 years ago, I had Nissan Australia representative present, so I was sure the dealer didn't miss any of the pre-delivery checks LOL emoticon

Time flies for sure emoticon

Let us know what map version you end up with, in my arguments with Nissan about out of date maps I was never able to ascertain the actual existence of a 2014 update.

Re: Run out T31 Ti new car pre-delivery checks

Hi all - spoke to the dealer on Monday and everything I requested will be installed and the car is going to be available on Thursday for pick up. emoticon

I am actually starting to get a bit excited now...I may actually be collecting my brand new exy in the next few days! One day i'll fill you all in on the dramas of my previous endeavour to buy a new Rav4 from T#y0!a, but that's for another topic and well I am a true believer in "everything happens for a reason"!

Jump4joy - good tip about the polarising sunnies - I am going to be like a hawk (I already warned the salesperson to expect me to be there going over the car with a fine tooth comb!)

Jalal - haha - not sure I have enough clout to warrant a Nissan Australia representative to greet me upon the purchase of my vehicle (i'd settle for the dealer principal though...)

58phil - as soon as I get into the car ill be whipping out the SDCARD for a visual inspection and then into the settings to see what version the maps are. Just to quote what another service agent told me though, 2014 are the latest available maps for a 2013 T31 (and this dealer where I am purchasing my vehicle has not told me otherwise - I have in writing to them I want the 2014 maps upon collection)

ok - what's the best way to make two days pass by as quickly as possible? emoticon
