New member just arrived in Oz from UK
Been associated with this site for some two years, up until two weeks ago, I was in UK and had a 2005 T30 X Trail SVE 2.2 DCI 6 speed manual and was please with it.
Now I am in Oz, I have bought a similar car (same colour, same year) but petrol of course and auto. it is a TI which more or less equates with a UK SVE.
Very different vehicle to drive (more refined than the 2.2 diesel and auto of course)
Within a week it has developed a problem of high idling speed which I am working on with the help of the forum. some 50 yrs ago I was an apprentice diesel mechanic and have always done my own repairs but today's electronic wizardry is a far cry from the "adjust the timing until it sounds about right!" world I was brought up in.
Subsequently spoiled by 30 yrs of company cars whilst looking after old motorbikes and my wife's ancient Suzuki Vitara to "keep my hand in"
Should be fun learning new skills to keep the beast on the road!
