G'day from the Hunter Valley NSW

I'm probably going to get turfed off the site in my first post, but I'm not a Nissan fan.
Don't get me wrong; I don't hate them or love them, just like any other vehicle since 1986.

I just bought a 2006 40th anniversary X-Trail because it was a good deal.
The previous owner (a workmate) has a serious case of automotive OCD.
If he owned it, it was a good choice and perfectly maintained.
His wife was nagging him to get something bigger and so was mine.

This is my first Nissan (excluding a Datsun 2000 Sports)
It's my first 4WD (excluding a Terios).
It's my second unleaded engine (excluding wife-cars and lawnmowers)

I have reasonable 4WD experience, both at work and play.
Despite six years of trying, I couldn't kill that damned Terios.

I'm too old and too busy to be dragging my bones under cars, anymore.
If it takes more than an hour, it's the job of a mechanic.

With nothing serious needing repair, I've spent the past few weeks doing a few mods.
This forum has been my saving grace and I've been lurking in the backgroud, stealing ideas.
Now it's time to stick my hand up and be counted.

My name is Bruce and I'm an X-Trailaholic.
