Re: That little pocket above the radio...

I use the pocket to hold my wallet. Doesn't fall out except for when my bride gets into the wallet and it becomes too thin!!!

Re: That little pocket above the radio...

Im not sure if you know but that is the specially designed Cherry ripe storage unit. With the capability of holding 2+ Cherry ripes I shall not be buying a car that hasn't got one of these amazing items

Re:

I've used automotive double sided tape to stick one of these on the RHS.

iPhone dock

Drilled a hole below the dock to run the cable internally.
Stripped the cable. Power runs off the 12v accessory. Data goes to head unit.
Align the dock so the back of the phone rests against the dash for extra support. I've never had it come loose while driving, even off road.

Why do that to the cable?

Head unit only provides charge when iPod mode is selected, and as i mostly use a usb stick or wifi for music it would be mostly useless as a charger.

Re: That little pocket above the radio...

If it is the little silver pocket, on the Series Ones. I have seen people with the pocket below too. I fitted a DIN pocket to replace this as a temporary pocket, it is still there emoticon

I didn't see a use for it. Removed it and mounted a GPS screen above the factory stereo. Bought the unit from Polaris. Amazing!

Re: That little pocket above the radio...

Hi Guys, Mum uses it for her birdwatching note book, so does every other birdwatching EXY owner we know. It is also really great for Cherry Ripe storage as well! LOL emoticon

Dad uses it for Camera related odds and sods, and has the top glovebox full of camera acc.

Just another of my useful storage spots.

Have a great day and say G' Day to ya EXY for me, off to get "Muddy", Augustus the X Trail emoticon

Re:

Its actually a very clever sound resinator designed to increase the sound volume of all road noise when driving on rough RMA designed and maintained roads.

The sound comes up through the wheels and resonates down the length of the babin gradually finding its way back into the little recess, suprisingly the addition of a cherry ripe shaped object has a counter volume effect and it tends to reduce rather than increase the noise.

It will be virtually undetectable for most being as its function operates at less than 0.005DB, but thats what its there for.

Ps
If anyone believed this I have a couple of bridges for sale.
