Disk Rotor replacement guide Hi Jal
I followed your excellent guide to replacing disk brakes on my Xtrail and it all went pretty sweet front and back.
Just got new tyres (CS4's) on and the guys at the shop said I need new disk rotors.
I was wondering if there is a step by step guide for the rotors like the one for brake pads ?
Closest thing I can find on the u tube is a Nissan Altima having its disks changed out.
Is this close enough to follow for the xtrail. It all looks pretty similar to me. Also looks about as easy as changing the brake pads.

Re: Yeah the cleaning up of the hub face is often not done... since the rotors are usually on there for at least 3-5 years it's worth doing and leads to less problems with "warping" down the track which is often just grit/material stuck between the hub face and rotor hat causing runout issues.
I have had runout issues on my back left actually caused by the hub itself being warped, took a few goes to identify beyond the usual replace pads/replace rotors/replace wheel bearing... the hub itself was out of true, so a machinist fixed it but now problem back (squeak.. squeak when coming to a stop). Going to replace back pads with Remsa pads (come complete with shim and very good for the price $80), clean the hub face and rotor hat backside and flip the rotor on the hub around to try to index it and see how I go
