Thanks Jamie for gathering this group together. The bad weather didn't stop us from having fun, and it turned out a sunny arvo.

Finally my frustrated experiences at Bribie paid off, as I was one of the few that didn't get bogged at all. That inland track is not easy...

This was my second trip with the group and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Re:

Marcus, there were a few that did not have bash plates and had no problems. Sand should not present too much difficulties but without a doubt, if you are going off road anywhere else - it is a worthwhile investment.

Marcus,
Sand could be the rear bumpers worst enemy as it could act as a scoop ripping it.
Have a read of this thread.

Re: Bribie Island beach run 11th November 2012nly

Marcus,
Believe me that beach/dune driving was a learning experience for me back in 2010 soon after purchasing my brand new nissan. I only wish that I had known about this forum and the potential T31 rear bumper problem prior to invading Stockton Beach.
Completely ripped my rear bumper on either side due to that stupid plastic angle acting as a scoop. Temporarily had to use cable ties to hold bumper up. Then to make matters worse I tried to make the temporary repair more efficient but somehow wiring shorted out and vehicle went to limp mode. Only after being with NISSAN for 3 days was the electrical problem found & rectified.
Also the installed trailer socket was ripped off as well.

Have now fitted bash plates and moved socket to compartment inside rear cargo area.

Marcus, on flat sand beach drives etc you should be OK but any "ups" and "downs" without sufficient clearance can be a disaster.
Highly recommend bash plates and relocation of trailer socket.

cheers

hahahaha emoticon

Yeah, something like "buy a set of bash plates and get your car polished for free" emoticon

I wish I had more flexibility like David Jones when it came to this, but unfortunately I don't and am really importing them to ensure you guys don't end-up with damaged exys!
