Not even arrived yet...

Hi all,

Ordered a TL diesel in Tempest blue, due to arrive in January.....aarrrgghh, I want my XTrail!!

Anyway, here in the wilds of Murrumbateman, trying to get a handle on the differences between the series 3, 4 and 5 (cosmetically). The reason is that to keep us from going insane with wanting our new car, we play a game on the way into work and home again, XTrail vs Forester, as our decision on a new car came down to these two. The XTrail wins every time...lots more XTrails on the road, with bonus points for a Tempest Blue or a red Forester.

The problem is, when they are zooming past going 200km/h the other way, it is a little hard to tell the differences, so I think my count is inaccurate. I can tell the series 1&2, small boxy things, but the others are a little more difficult.

Is there any big striking differences I can point out to my wife so she can help me spot 'em??

Looking through other threads too, but if there is a single obvious difference, would be 'preciated.

Cheers

Wayne

Re:

G'day Wayne. The time will fly and you'll be seated in the Exy in no time.

There are heaps of mods as well for the exy's on this website and i really encourage to look through them all. They have been helping me make my exy even better.

Jalal and the other senior members of the forum are also a great source of information, and they are more than happy to extend a helping hand.

Anyway mate, read up, and look forward to seeing photo's when you take ownership.

Cheers,

Scot

Found an easy tell for the Series 4/5 over earlier ones - the rear quarter window is a pointy rectangle/chevron, the earlier ones are straight on the rear edge.

Makes the game that much more precise...

Are we confusing the model T30 with the T31??
The T31 series 1 and 2 have same hape rear quarter window as eries 3,4,and 5 methinks.

cheers
