Yeah mate I get the bar in 2 weeks and will have the winch on it straight away.
There might even be a chance that Daniel could come as well.

Re:

I am toying with the idea of a hand winch, not necessarily for this trip, just for insurance, been looking around, they start at $220, which should be alright for a Xtrail.

I looked at them too Pete. I ended up buying a $50 come-a-long style cheapie. Couldn't justify $300+ for a hand winch when I could get an electric winch for $350.

Hopefully nothing like that will be need on this trip anyway. Especially for the standard X-trails.

Re:

I would really like to come along to this. Although I am certainly a newbie in regards to being a member, I've been following the forum and it's exploits/adventures for quite a while now, and feel like I already know half of the people on here already, haha.. (I hope that doesn't sound too creepy).. So I would definitely enjoy getting to meet some of you, even if I'm still a relative stranger in the eyes of the forum. I'm currently tossing up whether to put A/T's on my T30, or commit to the T31 I've been looking at for the past few weeks, heh.. Either way I should still be able to make the trip! Is there a cut-off on when one can register? (Forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question, as I'm just too tired to read through all 18 pages when it's 12.45am here)
