Re:

Jeff,

Just be aware that in most states of Australia it is illegal to put HIDs in the high beam lights. Hence the TL and Ti models only come with them in the low beam lights as standard.

Have a read of this article HERE.

You might also check the Australian Design rules HERE.

I'm not saying you're wrong to put them in a high beam socket but be wary of the need to re-aim the lights to ensure you don't blind oncoming drivers or attract the ire of the constabulary.

Re: T31 (Series 3 & 4) Headlights

Hey Mark
Thanks for the info on HIDs greatly appreciated, I did have them in my Vitara, but they were the one bulb with the shield that flips for high beam, I also have HID in both Hi and Low beam on my bike, never been caught oops stopped by police, for too bright a light in either vehicle.
I think I will keep using them until the police tell me not to use them, all original wiring is still in place so easy to change if needed.
I have aligned lights to same level as original.
Thanks for your input
Regards

Re:

I regards to LEDs in the parkers I have found that Jaycar sell T10 white LEDs with 4 little LEDs on them for $3.50 each. They are bright and are of good quality. I got them in the parkers and number plate lights for both my Xtrail and the wifes Jazz.

Re: T31 Series 4 ST

Guys,
Having read this post I'd like to get the parker 25 SMD T10 globes but after looking the pictures posted I'm not sure. They look like 'Blue' lights because of the backing.

In South Australia only White or Yellow running lights are allowed as per:
http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/sa/consol_reg/rtsr1999308/s85.html

could anyone in SA please confirm this as don't want to be stopped by any 'constables'

Was at Autobarn on Sunday and they did not have them and were not sure when they would have them in stock. Can you please share where you bought them from ? I know a couple floating around on ebay from Vic.

Is it right that the base exy globes are H1 for HIGH BEAM
and H11 for LOW BEAM .

That would be noted in your owners handbook Neil, but it sounds right and has been mentioned previously.

Re: T31 (Series 3 & 4) Headlights

I'm running the Osram Night Breaker. They are 90% brighter than standard and work very well indeed. I haven't bothered upgrading the high beams as we seldom use them.
Bought the off the Interweb with free delivery.

I've used Philips extreme power bulbs in other cars I've owned and rate them highly too...although they seemed to have a relatively short life span.

Cheers,
Mark
