Re:
Well done,
I know what you mean about all the wires.
I read my GPS on the R/h side of the windscreen, that way the power wire runs behind the steering wheel to the power socket.

Re: Power outlet in dashboard storage box
I have done this mod in my Series 4 Ti this morning and it's super easy to do indeed.
Here are more pics for you to use as a reference.
The first thing you need to do is remove the top glovebox from its place, you just need to lift it up from the lid with some force:
Photo from the top of the dash revealing the wiring for the Sat Nav
You can then unclip the passenger side centre console side cover as shown below
Make a small hole for the wiring of the extra 12 colt plug to pass through all the way to bottom where you can catch it
Next you would want to tap into the existing 12 volt outlet, so to do that and get clear access to the wiring, I have decided to remove the gear stick surround and it is very easy to do so:
Just unclip the bottom of the gear stick and remove the retaining metal clip and then lift the gear stick from its place
You will then insert a screwdriver into the oval end of the gear stick surround and lift it up gently
Using your fingers lift the rest of the gear stick surround and put it aside, so you can access the 12 volt plug wiring
Tap into the 2 wires (blue and black) that are there and test the connection to make sure everything is wired correctly and power is available from both outlets
Put everything back together and you're done.

Re:
Yeah Nomand, I actually started modifying the car on the same day I drove it back from the dealership when I bought it
My wife came out and saw me stripping pieces off the car and said "Here we go again!!!"
The sat nav is the factory supplied one here by Nissan Australia for the Series 3 and 4 top of the range models, it is made by Fujitsu/Eclipse and available for purchase from the internet, but you can find much cheaper and better units for your exy by looking in THIS thread and it will give you an idea about the installation as well.
