Re: Angel Eyes

I found the legs of the T10 bulbs are about 4 - 5 mm long and usually on opposite sides of the base (same for LED type). By stripping 10 mm of the LED lead wire you can get several (2-3) tight wraps around each leg. Leave enough insulation on the lead wire to protect from shorts. Wire wrapping will hold but a small amount of solder will be better. When the bulb is pushed back into the holder the metal spring tabs help secure the wires to the bulb.

Sorry about the Short hand "assy"for Assembly old work slang. Getting the strips in place is fiddly take your time. Kev and I found excessive bending can damage the PCB in the strip.

Below is one I opened up to see what is inside it.

Have fun!

Re: Angel Eyes

I am considering in buying this:
"30cm 15 SMD LED Flexible Strip Light Car Van 12V New Self Adhesive"

will this work for um.. exterior lights?
not the angel eyes where you put inside the parkers... u stick it on the outside of the headlight cover.. like the audi ones (sorry for crap description =P)...

will that work rather than this?: "24 WHITE LED CAR LIGHT STRIP BULB WATERPROOF NEON J07"

(if anyone is confused, I am deciding whether or not to buy "15 SMD LED". I have already bought "24 WHITE-LED" but one has gone missing in the mail.. only 1 of them came in the mail)
Also "15 SMD LED" the length is longer.. i like longer...

Will it work? or should i just stick with "24 WHITE LED"?

Thanks!!!!

Admin Edit: eBay links removed, as the links will die after the auction is finished and will be useless when referred to in posts on our forum.

Re:

WOW mate, eBay link galore in your post there!!

Can you imagine future readers coming across your post in a year or 2 when these eBay links are dead and trying to make sense out of what you are asking?

Am gonna give you an opportunity to edit your post and instead of talking in "eBay link 1 and link 2" describe the products you are working with (example: 30cm flexible LED strip self adhesive).

All eBay links will be deleted soon.

Re: Angel Eyes

Hi blob,
The 24 LED strip is what I have and they are bright at dusk or at night but could be brighter for daytime if that is what you want them for. As you have one yourself you can see how bright they are.

The 15 SMD strip looks much less brighter than what I know the 24 LED strip is so I would either try to get a better pic of its brightness or give those a miss.

also for future reference ... posting a pic of the item would help later as the ebay links die

Well it's been a while.. but I've installed those lovely 24cm led strips onto my car for a few months now and I must say it does look very sexy!! adds a new feel to the car... I have purchased 48cm led strips tho so I am gonna give that a try also and ill see if i can post some piccies if everything goes successful!!!!

also thinking about adding leds for er front indicatiors.. but dunno if thats a bit overkill...... >.> also ebay only sells yellow 24cm led strips... not orange.. but the pics do look orange.. but dunno if it will actually show orange if I actually buy it and stick it on.. >_>..

Re: Angel Eyes

Have a look at what this guy has it will give you some ideas for the Halo or Angel Eyes or Daytime Running Light configurations for the exy.His are more exspensive than what can be sourced on E Bay etc but their are some good ideas their.I like how Oldbeach has done them but i will get the ultra thin strips Generation 7, 120% brighter and run them along the top of the light housing down to the botton.
